Our bank account is now activated for Zelle payments. That means I now have the option to pay vendors and member reimbursements via Zelle. No more waiting for a check!  And we can also accept payments via Zelle as well. Most banks support Zelle so if you are interested in receiving your reimbursements that way please check with your bank.

He will be submitting tax forms soon.   Andy will be out of town from 6/1 – 6/23.

Membership – Don Minami

Summary for April:

Our region gained two members during April. Much better than the loss of nine members in May. Hurray!

I counted the number of badges that we had made but never delivered or picked up. It costs about $10 to have the plastic badge engraved with the magnet attached. Not sure how much the LPR cloisonné costs… maybe $5?

114 badges were made but never delivered or picked up. They are in an old Corona Beer cardbox on the floor of my studio.

87 of the badges are for registered PCA members for whom we have contact information. I will reach out to these people and find out how to deliver them. People with email addresses will be easy. Those without emails will be more difficult to reach.

Delivery of the badges by USPS is reportedly $10 each because of the awkward shape of the badge. Coordinating a meet up somewhere to hand off is problematic. We need an easier way for members that want badges to get them. Any ideas?

27 of the badges have names but PCA has no current information. I suppose these badges are for people who are no longer members of the PCA?

Discussion:   Jim and Andy volunteered to help distribute badges to people in Santa Cruz County, and Dana Drysdale has volunteered to help distribute badges to people in Santa Clara County.

New bylaws: No new update from PCA National

Nominations committee: Have confirmed candidates for President and Treasurer.  Need additional potential candidates.

Chairperson Reports:

Autocross – Dave Dunwoodie/Co-Chair Homer Pitner

AX #2 went well with 54 drivers at Salinas Airport and nice weather.

Registration closes tomorrow night for AX #3 and we are struggling to get enough drivers to break even with only 38. 50 is about my breakeven point at Salinas.

I still have the old LPR AX Trailer. I haven’t found time to move it around to sell it. Anyone have ideas or maybe we should donate it for a charity donation? Discuss.

Discussion:  Try to sell trailer first before considering donating.   No rush.

Dana will submit request for Zone dinner.

Charity  – Kathy Musser, Kris Vanacore, Emilie Highley

Jacob’s Heart and Morgan Autism are “onboard” to participate in the Porsche Heritage, 6/22.    Kris & Kathy will be out of town so Emilie & Honore will be working with our Charities, assisting them on timing for the event, set up, etc.

Hospitality – Emilie Highley

Nothing to report this month.

Prieta Post Editor – Don Chaisson

Absent – Report submitted

The May Jun issue of the Prieta POST is locked and in final review as of 5/12.   I should be available for publication when Dana A returns from her trip.

Details:
Main articles:  LPR Test Drives the Macan EV, Zone 7 Awards Banquet — D’Angleo’s on Wall of Fame!, Campbell Easter Parade and Porsche Sprints w/ Interview with BRracing

Several iterative changes in various page’s designs for more color and pop.  Photoshop’ed images add impact.   Reorganized the behind the document’s architecture to make future assembly and layout a bit easier.

Still looking for contributions/STORIES from future events, e.g. tours, Thirsty Thursdays, etc.

Public Relations – Dana Drysdale

Submission in process with Pano.

Safety – Open Position

Ed Tefankjian submitted the safety report for the April AX#2.

Tour – Hugh Calvin

No Tours were conducted during April.

The next Tour is the Forest Bathing Tour on 15-Jun (Father’s Day)!  The Tour is full now, so we’ve started a wait list!

The Lodge we’ve found for the Overnight Tour to Lake Tahoe (27-28 September) requires a Contract to secure our accommodations.  I’d like to ask for the Board’s approval.

  • Lodge blocks off 16 rooms
  • Must have 13 or more confirmed reservations a month before (27-Aug) the Tour starts
  • Cost $250/room (occupancy, taxes, resort fees included)

Tours on the Calendar for 2025:  Forest Bathing Tour (15-Jun), MBR Oktoberfest Tour (13-Sep), Jacob’s Heart Tour (20-Sep), Overnight Lake Tahoe Tour (27-28-Sep), Toys 4 Tots (23-Nov), Ole Amigos Tour (TBD).

Discussion:  Contract requires at least 13 of the 16 rooms reserved to be paid.  Worst case scenario is payment for 13 rooms at $250 each.  Dana Drysdale has reviewed the contract and it looks fine.   Contract is available for anyone to review.

Proposal:  Honore proposes we agree and sign the contract.  Second: Andy Ayes:  6 Noes:  None  Motion passes
