Region Leadership App

Request other Board Members please test this app.

PCA wants us to test it to a) look up members and b) sign up new members.

All Board Members should be able to use it.

On Apple App Store or Google Play search for PCA Region Leader Tools.

Sign in using your PCA name and password.

With good results, I will ask to add more people to the app.  Please check!

PCA Public Service Awards

Dana Drysdale submitted the application to National and we will see what happens.

We should be extremely close to an award if we do not receive.

Over the long haul, we should be recognized, LPR is amazing and recognition adds inspiration.

Secretary – Mari Kuhn

Thank you for your reports in advance of the meeting!

Treasurer – Dana Drysdale

December 2025 was net loss, and annual income was $1k.

We are set up to process payments.  Remember to use the form, scan the form and invoice, and send to Dana.

The reimbursement form is at https://wpgeeks.online/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/Reimbursement-Request-Form-R1.3.2.pdf

QuickBooks Software Note:  We use the last QuickBooks desktop version produced, in 2021.

It is no longer supported.  So, there is some risk, although our use is very simple – just bank deposits, expenses, and reports.

Dana is looking at options to bring to Board, ranging from QuickBooks cloud @ $800 / year to Zoho books at $420 / year.

Ideas from anyone are welcome.  Any choice needs to be able to import old QuickBooks data.

We also use a dedicated LPR computer dating from 2020 to possibly 2015.  Cloud software would likely eliminate
the need for a LPR computer, although each Treasurer would have to run reports and save them to Glovebox.

The Jan Feb 2026 issue was completed and published Jan 8th.   Thank you Dana A for pushing the issue out and reporting it went out to 623 addressees.

PCA started to solicit entries for the 2026 Newsletter contest.   Dana, Honore, Doris and I agreed to submit the Nov Dec 2025 issue.   It was a great issue, four featured articles from four different authors (a first of the Post of late), good photography and incorporated 2025 judging comments and suggestions.  Incremental improvement is always a good thing!

The Jan Feb issue has also started additional improvements, better use of color (background), better use of white space and more.

The next issue’s possible articles:  Part 2 of Iain’s DIY of the light weight fly wheel, a report on Porsche Sprints to follow up on our tacking the young Porsche drivers and maybe a bit on the SRO race at Sonoma also, reports on our first Thirsty Thursdays of the year and maybe our visit to the VA.   The Autocross season will also have begun.

Thanks to everyone who helps Doris and I publish our award winning publication.

Public Relations – Dana Drysdale

Panorama:  Pano delayed our latest submission, Tahoe Tour to March.

Explanation was holiday photos only, and Pano stopped accepting them on December 1.

Directions to me are to resubmit the Tahoe Tour in late January.

Problem is that so many submissions are being received, Pano is working on a new way.

From the Regions and Linda are very nice with communications, directions, and editing!

Other

VA Car Show – Confirmed for March 28.  Bigger than 2024 show.

DJ, popcorn, etc. for Veteran guests. Purpose is marketing to sign up new VA system members.

We plan to still have lunch available for PCA volunteers, etc., there will just be more veterans.

Webmaster – Jim Turk

During the month of December, the webmaster did the following:

  1.   WordPress maintenance
  2.   Beginning of the year tasks.
  3.   New BOD page
  4.   New AX page
  5.   Updated “generic” email addresses for delivery to new board members – you might want to check yours out by sending yourself an email from the BOD page on the current website
  6.   Updated the footer copyright to 2026
  7.   There are more updates that need to be done, but I am waiting until the software update is complete before doing those
  8.   Added a new email address for the autocross director, autocross-director@lprpca.org. This email address can have different delivery addresses from the autocross chair address, autocross-chair@lprpca.org. I don’t know if that is important or not, but it made sense to me.
  9.   Due to the fantastic response to our request for a new webmaster or at least a co-webmaster, I am proposing that we “outsource” the maintenance of the website to a third party.

This will allow a webmaster to concentrate on content rather than the constant updating of the website software – a risky proposition depending on the capabilities of the webmaster.

A rough quote that I have received for this type of service is about $3300/year, which is significantly more expensive than what we are currently paying for the hosting of the site, and the software around the edges for maintaining the site (like backup software, page builder software, etc.). This idea is in the early stages of gestation. I’ll keep the board in the loop about this idea.
  10.   Updating of the website has been started by Techmagick, and the club has made a partial payment of $1600 for the work that has been done so far. Techmagick has identified 19 total tasks to complete the software update, and 8 have been completed. It’s been smooth sailing so far, and I anticipate that will continue.

I do not have an estimate for when the website will be back up and running the new software at this time.

Old Business:  By Email dated 12/31/2025.

Proposal:  Request Board approval for following expenditures:

  1. Concours fee for LPR Concours.  To fund Zone concours trophies.
$330 per bill from Zone 7.
  2. Travel mugs for 3 departing Board members not otherwise awarded.
$225.00.  Honore suggested, I said you bet and did the buy.

Proposal:  Dana D. requests approval of $330 to Zone 7 for payment of concours trophies and $225.00 for Travel mug gifts as described above.  Second:Homer  Ayes:  5  Noes:  None  Motion passes

New Business: None
