Region Leadership App
Used this to sign up 10 new members for PCA at Porsches and Pastries.
Contacted both Brian Adkins and PCA about more LPR Region Leaders using this app.
Update to you as soon as we hear.
PSC
Porsches and Pastries with PSC was great! We had not had a canopy, etc. at
a PSC event in recent history. We will have 2 big events (Heritage Day, Porsches
and Pastries) and our Concours with them before end of year.
This is a lot of support from PSC. Customer experience there is very good for me,
especially service, I take a lot of cars there helping people with family situations.
MBR / LPR Oktoberfest Oct. 18 – Adjusted to Lunch at Lugano’s
MBR had a lot of activities last month, so, they only have 25 attendees.
So, they have adjusted the event to be a lunch 1 – 3 PM at Lugano’s Swiss Restaurant in Carmel.
If anyone would like to attend, please let me know, they have 4 – 6 spots available.
We will be back with our turn at Oktoberfest next year and will discuss at Planning Meeting.
LPR / PSC Concours Oct. 26 – PSC Los Gatos Service Center
Thanks to Honore, Dave, Peter for helping put this back together.
This will be low key, like Porsche Fremont, not like Heritage Day.
PA, canopy, etc. will be borrowed from Rotary to keep costs down.
Discussion: Our goal is to make our concours fully-sponsored in the future.
Nov 1 VA Car Show / GTG from Panera, etc.
Not possible at this time. VA client services are not interrupted.
Email, etc. used to publicize this event may be interrupted.
So, we are taking a go around.
The intention is to try to reschedule before end of year, VA would like that.

I did not attach a Zone 7 report for Sept, as there was no activity on that account since my last update.
Additionally, I have a couple of items I’d like to take action on:
- I need approval to pay our Zone 7 Autocross banker LPR’s amount due for AX Trophy fees, $424
- I would like to make some minor edits to the online form we use to request reimbursements, adding a couple of extra fields for phone number and Zelle account name (if applicable). Probably not something we need to discuss per se, but I’m not sure who handles updating our online documents.
Discussion: Jim Turk will work with Andy regarding the reimbursement form.
Proposal: Andy made a motion to approve Zone 7 trophy fund fee of $424. Second: Dana D.

Nothing to report.
Chairperson Reports:
Autocross – Dave Dunwoodie/Co-Chair Homer Pitner
Our Kill-a-Kone event was Oct 11th and was well attended with 68 drivers on a fun fast course that was a bit longer than usual. Everything went smoothly to get everyone 9 runs on a pleasant 70 degrees day, a nice change from the 100 degrees temps that are common out there.
Our last event of the year will be on Nov 9th at Crows Landing.
Charity – Kathy Musser, Kris Vanacore, Emilie Highley
Report from Kathy:
On Thursday I delivered the donations to Jacob’s Heart. While I was at Jacob’s Heart, I was able to obtain the total for the online donations. The generosity of the members of the Loma Prieta Region was totally amazing! As of Thursday the 9th of October, the total amount donated to Jacob’s Heart is just a bit over $15,000.00. Thank you so very much for your support of this wonderful charity.

We are in the middle of preparing the Nov/Dec issue. Working on interesting articles with contributions from William Bauer, Doris, and Iain McNeil. Will try a wrinkle in the layout approach, it’s a standard approach for magazines, but we’ll see if folks warm up to the change.
The Sep Oct issue went out a bit late so here are the statistics from that issue:
There were @ 200 views with 193 individual readers.
Total reading time was about 17+ hours.
The most popular page(s) were the bios of the board candidates.
Next was the article on the Picnic — and the interviews with a new member and a long-time member — that article was content dense (vs the LPR hits the Trail article which had a lot of photos) — you can get 85% of the article without doing a lot of reading.
Dana’s Driving with Friends got a lot of screen time.
A lot of readers didn’t spend a lot of time on the WERKS article — but I bet the ones who bothered to read it were rewarded with some great interviews with Michael Allen Ross and interest stories with Gunter and his staff.
It is what it is.
Public Relations – Dana Drysdale
Sent volunteer photo from WERKS to Panorama.

Webmaster – Jim Turk
- Created the 2025 election ballot and placed notice on website home page. As of 10/13 we have received 25 ballots. Some may be duplicates (I only use the most recent ballot if someone votes twice), or not from LPR members, but the number of ballots received is somewhat encouraging. Last year we received 49 valid ballots in total.
- WordPress Plugin updates were performed at the website.
- Home page additions and deletions
- Added: 2025 election stuff, Cars and Coffee at Beeline October 12, AX#8 and Kill-a-Kone
- Removed: AX#7 and AX#8, Cars and Coffee September 14 and October 12, Jacob’s Heart, Cote d’Oro tour, Thirsty Thursday October 9
- September 14 Cars and Coffee at Carpo’s had 18 vehicles, 30(?) participants
- October 12 Cars and Coffee at Beeline Motor Club had 31 vehicles, maybe 60 participants and an AWECOME tech talk from Beeline’s Nick about Porsche suspensions.
- Website was down for 5:13 minutes:seconds on 2025-09-24 at 05:47
- Website was and is *VERY* slow. Contacted our hosting chat support who said that they were seeing SSL errors. Apparently, we had “credits” which allowed them to “upgrade” us from a free SSL. I suspect that means we will need to pay for this service in the future. Bummer. The performance issues are troubling. Adding SSL didn’t make a huge difference in response times.
