Call to Order

President Dana called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.

Board Member Reports:

President – Dana Drysdale

July Board Minutes:

President Dana asked the Board to approve the July 2025 Board minutes.

Ayes:  6   Noes:  None    Motion Passed

Thank You

Thanks to everyone for all you are putting into this year, it’s a good one, more to come.

Contribution for Flood Relief

Thank you, Kris Vanacore, Emilie, and Andy for making this happen!

No More Hybrid Meetings at Legends – Bad Network

This was a definition of a bad meeting for me, mostly due to bad network.

We can have successful hybrid meetings; we’ve done that in Santa Cruz.

Legends has good pizza and good enough beer but a terrible network.

News from National / Brian Adkins – Nominating Committee Guidelines:

PCA is working on guidance for Region Nominating Committees.

Homer has our work done before Guidelines are officially supplied!

The idea is to help Regions with their Policies and Procedures.

Personal thanks to John D’Angelo for his meeting with us to explain PCA Nom Com.

Werks Reunion Photo 12:45PM Friday At the Stage:

PCA can’t supply the usual list this year.

Will work with Dana or self & send a separate Emailer for this, probably Wednesday, usual day.

Sept. 13, Oktoberfest / PCA 70th Birthday Changes:

Monterey does not want to do Oktoberfest this day.

They are doing a 70th PCA dinner at Veloce Media www.veloce-media.com in PG.

They have room for maybe 15 LPR members, parking for maybe 5 – 7 cars.

Other Options for Sept. 13th – Honore and Dana working on it:

    1. Dana check with Porsche Stevens Creek – going there Wednesday.
    2. Dana has a band and a hall, caterer available for Sept. 13.  Very good band.
The band is outdoors playing Fall Fest in Cupertino, there is craft beer, potential reserved parking, etc. We could have our own Region history material there, etc., it is big banquet room.
    3. Any other ideas? – Goal for all regions is to have an event on the day.

Discussion:   The hall is from a non-profit, so only a donation is needed – perhaps $500 at the most.  Caterer could be $20 per plate.  More details to come next month.

October 18 with MBR – Tentative – Oktoberfest

Monterey would like to do this at Laguna Seca, they are working on details.

It would be a drive down and a lunch, drive home.

Like last Oktoberfest, except at Laguna.  There is a track day at Laguna that day.

October 25 or Nov 1 – VA Car Show – Contacted VA

Have not heard back from them yet.

Vice President – Honore D’Angelo

New bylaws: No update from PCA National, recommend to move ahead with BOD and membership approval of new bylaws and Policies and Procedures.

Nominations committee: Have candidates for all BOD positions except VP, there is a proposal to split the

responsibilities across a committee in the absence of a candidate. However, there is one possible VP candidate being investigated. Awards nominations are compiled and with the exception of newcomer of the year (lack of viable candidates) we have a full list of nominations.

Proposal:  Homer makes a motion to approve the ByLaws and Policies and Procedures as sent in emails.  Second:  Andy Ayes:  6  Noes:  None  Motion passes

I need board approval for our annual Clokkr renewal of $600. This is our timing, scoring, and live timing software that replaced Pronto last year.

Our annual Kill-A-Kone event will be October 11th at Crows Landing.

The End of an Era …
On July 25th we were made aware that June Iles passed quietly in her sleep.   June and her late husband Ken were founders of the Loma Prieta Region, Porsche Club of America.  June will always be remembered for her welcoming smile and love for LPR.   She led a full life for 96 years.  June’s family lives in England, Italy & Australia- Emilie has been in touch with all of them.

Prieta Post Editor – Don Chaisson

Nothing to report.  Will get a lot of content at WERKS.  See you all there

Time for our annual photo in front of the stage for all LPRers there.  12:45 pm.

Peter volunteered to get small bios on the board candidates to include in the Prieta Post.

Public Relations – Dana Drysdale

Dana plans to submit a picture and article from Heritage Day.  He doesn’t have many photos, so please send him photos.

Safety – Open Position

Ed Tafankjian submitted Safety Report for Autocross #6.

Tour – Hugh Calvin

No Tours were conducted in July.

The flyer for Overnight Tour to Lake Tahoe was sent to Dana Ambrisko & Jim Turk in time for inclusion in the July mid-month Blast!

We developed a “Call for Tours” note for the July Mid-Month Blast that might move some of our members who may be interested in hosting a tour into action.   In fact, we got two responses and two Tours added to our Calendar: Hit the Trail (24-Aug) and To the Moon, June (4-Oct).  Thanks Tony & Kris!

The Overnight Tour to Lake Tahoe has 8 cars signed up so far. We need to reserve at least 7 more rooms to meet our 14-room minimum by the 27 August, so if you’re on the fence or know anyone who might be interested, please get in touch with Hugh or Nancy.

Remaining Tours on the Calendar for 2025:  Hit the Trail (24-Aug), MBR Oktoberfest Tour (13-Sep), Jacob’s Heart Tour (20-Sep), Overnight Lake Tahoe Tour (27-28-Sep), To the Moon, June (4-Oct), Toys 4 Tots (23-Nov), Ole Amigos Tour (8-Nov ?, TBD).

Discussion:  Dave requested copy of the Lake Tahoe Tour flyer to add to the Facebook page.
