LPR BOARD MEETING MINUTES
June 4, 2024, 7:01 PM to 7:21PM
Call to Order
Vice President Honore called the meeting to order at 7:01PM.
Board Member Reports:
President – Dana Drysdale
May 14 Board Minutes: Honore asked the Board to approve the May 14 Board minutes.
Ayes: 5 Noes: None Motion Passed
Parade Reminder: 17 Zone 7 members will be at Parade. Sunday before the Welcome banquet there will be a Zone get together. Brian Adkins will bring prizes to be drawn for Z7 attendees.
VA – Interested in a Return Visit: Theresa from VA contacted me about a return visit. I think given the busyness of our Spring to Fall schedule, this needs to stay a late fall or winter activity. Through at least September we have a very busy calendar. Of course, if Board / club members want to go earlier, am happy to set it up and Missy and I are happy to help.
Thank you to everyone who responded with a willingness to serve on the Board for another year; honestly, thank you for serving in any year. I let Homer know for Nominating Committee. In a year when working on Bylaws seems like a big ask of Homer, this makes things a little easier.
We are and I am very lucky to have you! If something changes, please just let me know.
Vice President – Honore D’Angelo

New National bylaws review
Completed fourth draft version, ready for review prior to BOD submission. Need BOD to decide if we want to add an AX and Communications director to the LPR BOD. It would be best to decide if we want to add these two positions to the BOD before proceeding further with the bylaws rewrite. In addition, the LPR policies and procedures need to be updated. I will approach the BOD members to review and update the description of theirrespective roles in the coming weeks.

Prieta Post Editor – Don Chaisson
We published the May/June POST on May 7th. The issue featured our new AutoX trailer as a cover story.
Given the timing, we now have reader statistics for the issue.
Total audience who opened (and read) the issue: 196 individual readers
Time spent reading the issue Total time was about 15 1/2 hours of reading.
Time on pages (who’s reading what) in order of most time on an article/section
Article/section Time spent on article/section
John D/Angelo interview (3 pg.) @ 1 1/2 hours
SRO/Porsche Motorsport (4 pg.) @ 1 + hours
LPR Trailer (2 pg.) @ 1 hour
LPR Calendar (2 pg.) @ 45 min
Essential tied
Driving with Friends (1 pg.) @ 40 min
St Patty’s GTG (3 pg.) @ 40 min
Editorial/Board (2 pg.) @ 37 min
All other pages, ads, etc. @ less than 30 min.
So, the data shows that people are reading the articles — GREAT. Members are reading the Racing and Porsche Motorsport section, which is something that I enjoy putting together. The Calendar section is getting good focus time — good for getting more folks out to events!!!
The July/Aug issue is in-work. The lead article, provided by Doris Britschgi, is about LPR folks at Treffen Sonoma. Other articles will feature our blow out Cars&Coffee and Thirsty Thursday attendance. Including 5 or 6 new members in attendance, a report about and on the LPR Forest Bathing Tour, with interview with Nancy Calvin and a review of two recent IMSA WeatherTech series races, Laguna Seca and Detroit (spoiler alert, some good, some bad results for our favorite cars).
I’ll highlight the new members who attended the Jakes Thirsty Thursday event in the “Membership Corner” section. I’d love to keep this part going!!
Any questions, comments, complaints, or ??, please send them in! I promise to answer each and every one! Hehehe..

A photo/caption was submitted to Panorama’s “From the Regions”. This will appear in the July or August issue. This Pano feature has become very popular!
(We are looking for someone to take this position – basics are sending photos, possibly an article into Panorama. John is happy to continue taking pictures, but anyone should feel free to take photos.)

Webmaster – Jim Turk
During the month of May, the webmaster did the following:
- Updated links to current versions of
- The Prieta POST
- Zone 7 In the Zone
- AX link on the home page updated to point to the 2024 information, not the 2023 stuff.
- Working on changing the location of the September and October Cars and Coffees
- September 15 at Julio and Edna’s lot in Aptos. Spoke with Julio and he is good with this.
- October 13 potentially at Brookdale Lodge, since the April event was so well received.
- Website maintenance – our site is becoming woefully out-of-date for the WordPress version (we are at 6.1.1 and the current WP version is 6.5.3) – our hosting site claims they don’t support any WP version beyond 6.1. It’s a big job to move to a new hosting site. Probably best done during the “down times” at the end of the CY.
I will practice moving the site for a while until I’m comfortable with that process. - WordPress plugin maintenance
- Added an advert for Eric Siemens
- Installed a WordPress plugin, ShortPixel, that compresses the photos stored in WordPress on our site.
